When you use the GenoLens platform or contact us via the website, we may collect:
- Contact form: name, professional email, institution, sector, and message content.
- Platform account: email address, organisation name, usage data (analyses run, datasets uploaded).
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected via server logs and analytics.
- Cookie data: session cookies required for authentication; analytics cookies only with your consent.
3. Legal basis and purposes
We process your data on the following legal bases under GDPR Article 6:
- Contract performance — to deliver the GenoLens platform to you.
- Legitimate interest — to respond to your inquiries and improve our services.
- Consent — for marketing communications and non-essential cookies (you can withdraw at any time).
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable French and EU law.
4. Data retention
Contact form data is retained for up to 3 years after the last interaction. Platform data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 30 days after cancellation, during which you may export your data. After this window, data is permanently deleted.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Resend (email delivery) — for transactional emails.
- Cloudflare (CAPTCHA and infrastructure) — for form protection and CDN services.
- Hosting providers — for platform infrastructure, under data processing agreements.
All sub-processors are GDPR-compliant and bound by data processing agreements.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing)
